We met Emily & Mike almost two years ago when Mike was a groomsman in his friend Jake’s wedding. When he and Emily got engaged shortly thereafter, we were so excited to get to shoot their love story and wedding! They are one of those couples that just makes you go, aaahhh 🙂 It is obvious by how Mike (or Kyle as his family calls him) adores Emily; you can see it in how he looks at her, the way his smile lights up when he gazes into her eyes, how you know he’s never going to let anything happen to her. And it is equally apparent that Emily has found her protector, her best friend and the love of her life in Mike. They are a great pair, and genuinely fun people to be around. It has been our JOY to be a part of documenting their love story and the start of their forever! We are so glad to have met you and count you as friends – congratulations Emily & Mike!
As far as the details of their spectacular wedding day, they were married at St. Nicholas where both of their families have been long time parishioners. The ceremony was one of my favorites; they elected to have lots of singing with the choir, which added so much, and the homily was very meaningful. After doing photos at Tower Grove park, which had spring blooms on the trees in spectacular fashion, the reception was held at the Crown Plaza hotel. Everything looked so beautiful, but my favorite part was a Crown Plaza tradition of doing a dramatic presentation of the first course to the head table accompanied by “Be Our Guest” from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. It was so fun. Then a chef came out and did a flambe to orchestral music as well. Another of the highlights was Mike broke out the guitar and played the song for Emily’s dance with her father. It was so special. All in all it was a fabulous day, and we were so happy for our special couple!

P.S.  We had the pleasure of working with Jason Gibson Films for the wedding, and Jason did a killer job on the video. Check it out here!
