Wow…our fall months have been buuuuuuuusyyyyyy. Besides the fall compliment of weddings we had, most of our new wedding bookings from this past summer wanted to do their engagement photographs this fall. When it comes to engagement sessions, we usually recommend making them as different from your wedding photos as possible. So, for example, if you are getting married in the spring or summer, we recommend a fall or winter session. Or, if you are getting married in a more modern or urban setting, we recommend a more traditional outdoor engagement session. Not every studio agrees with this, but from my perspective, I would rather have two distinct set of photographs than two that are harder to tell apart (other than the difference in clothes, obviously. Of course, this may just be a matter of personal taste…although my wife might disagree that having them be the same is a horrible thing considering we ended up doing our engagement photos in 16 degree weather. At least they came out very nice!
Here is an engagement session from October…one of many yet to be posted. This is Angela and Paul from Chicago. Angie grew right near where I did in the west end of Belleville, and actually, we knew some of the same people from her church Blessed Sacrament. Sometimes it is a very small world. Even though they both live in Chicago now, they are getting married here, and we scheduled their session for when they were back visiting for a weekend. We had a great time…they make a great couple, and they were a ton of fun. It was one our many, many photo sessions at Tower Grove park this year, and thankfully…it was our last there for the year. We were driving in that area last weekend, and I told Shannon that I did not even want to drive by the park because it would make me think of work (and we were having a nice weekend off together).
We are definitely looking forward to their wedding…based on what we have seen so far, it should be a great day. Hope you enjoy the photos!
