We first met Sally and Jared over Skype one evening. Normally, we like to meet people in person, but seeing that they live in Seattle, that would have been a little challenging. After spending some time chatting things over and getting to know a little about them, we knew that we were a great match for each other. Jared himself loves photography, so that is always something that I (Joel) love about many of our couples. We learned a bit of their story…how they first met at a Halloween party during Game 7 of the 2011 World Series (GO CARDINALS!!!)…how they ended up in Seattle…all about their dog Ruby. They asked us if we could do there engagement session in Seattle. We said definitely (see the photographic proof HERE). We were even more excited, because they were getting married at the amazing Caramel Room at Bissinger’s…which was a place we had visited but never photographed in. All in all…a recipe for success.
Their wedding day came, and even though plans had to be shifted slightly due to rain (which they must have brought with them from Seattle), they were not deterred and still wanted to go outside for their photos. When it came time for photos, the skies dried up for just enough time that we did not get soaked (much to the happiness of all involved, I am sure). The ceremony was inside instead of out on the deck, but it was still gloriously beautiful. Their dog Ruby made the trip to StL to support her mom and dad. Very thoughtful of her. After the ceremony it went right into cocktail hour and the reception. A highlight of the reception was the dual pianos from Noteworthy Productions…there is definitely nothing quite like it at a wedding reception.
When it comes down it, though, it is so amazing when we have a couple that trusts us when we come up some of our ideas or want them to go someplace that might seem a bit…iffy. Sally and Jared are that kind of couple, and we loved every single minute we spent with them throughout our time together. We are so excited for them in their life together, and we wish them all the blessings in the world. Here are some of our favorites from their wedding day.
