When Kaitlin and Isaac first told us where they decided to have their wedding reception, we were incredibly excited. They chose none other than the amazing and famous City Museum! We have had a few sessions over the years where we shot inside the place, but we never had an actual wedding there. As it turns out, we spent more time there than we even planned. It has been a mostly dry summer here in St. Louis, but the heavens opened up with passion that day…we had some fairly strong rains for a good portion of the day. Apart from not being able to go up onto the roof because of the weather (boooooo), the City Museum was a fabulous place to do their photos!
We started out the day at the Crown Plaza Downtown with the guys and girls getting ready in their rooms. The girls had a nice large suite with plenty of room, whereas the guys were all in a smaller room downstairs (although they had Pappy’s Barbecue for lunch and were playing some Goldeneye on an old Nintendo 64, so I am sure that was a pretty fair trade for the smaller room, hehe). Once the rain hit, our plans changed and we went straight to the City Museum for a “first look” between Kaitlin and Isaac and photos. After we wrapped it all up with photos, we headed on to St Francis Xavier College Church at SLU…which is one of our favorite churches in the city. It was a beautiful ceremony and it was straight to the reception from there.
Everyone was definitely ready for the party. One of our favorite little things was that for their first dance, one of their friends played the song on his guitar and sang while they danced. Once it came time for general dancing, everyone got into it right away. We had a lot of fun being right in the middle of it with everyone dancing…it was an excellent reception.
Below are some of my favorites from the day! I was to give a huge shout out to Andy Carretto from Carretto Studio for shooting with me at this wedding. Shannon was hit with a pretty nasty case of poison ivy, and Andy came in to help me out for the day. He was a massive help. Even though he is not quite as good looking as my Shannon, he had a pretty sexy beard. Thanks, Andy!
Huge congrats to Kaitlin and Isaac! Since you do not live nearby, we did not get as much of a chance to spend time with you like we do with our local couples, but we SO enjoyed every moment we had with you. You are a wonderful couple with amazing families, and we could not be happier for you two. Blessings in your new life together!
