There are some stories that are always meant to be…even if they take a while to get there in the end. This is definitely one of those stories.
John and Marybeth went to school together at St. John the Baptist in St. Louis back in the 1960’s. They were friends and dated some, but after graduation, they went their separate ways as usually happens. John went and joined the Navy, and Marybeth became a nurse. They each lived their own lives for decades. John had two sons, and Marybeth never marriedĀ and cared for the sick. Years later, John’s sons has encouraged his to try and start dating again and after some failedĀ attempts at online dating, he knew that was not the way it was going to happen. One day, though, there was a school reunion, and who would you guess that John saw there…Marybeth. He came back and was talking with his kids about this woman he saw there after many years. They could tell that this was something…and it was. By the time came for their wedding, there was so much joy and excitement coming from everyone. Marybeth has a large family, and they were there supporting her with so much enthusiasm that it could not help but bring a smile to your face (and a tear to eyes of many). It was such a wonderful day and a perfect beginning of the next chapter of their story, and I am so happy that I was there to be a small part of it.
John is the father in law Ashley Fisher of Ashley Fisher Photography (http://ashleyfisherphotography.com), and she and I both photographed the day. While I handled the gents in the morning and the ceremony, she photographed the ladies at their house and the reception. She and her husband are fabulous photographers, and I was honored to be able to be there with them. The photos shows here are some of my favorites from the day, and they are images shot by both her and myself.
