We first met Catherine at the close of the St. Louis Bride and Groom Bridal Show in January. (Next one is July 24th if you want to come see us!) We had just started packing up our booth on Sunday evening when this cute girl came running (literally) down our aisle, still in her coat, asking if she could get a card or something. She had gotten there late and was trying to get to as many of her needed vendors as possible in the last few minutes of the show. I remember thinking how pretty she was and how bad I felt that she had gotten there with so little time left.
I was fairly surprised when we got a call from her to talk more (living in Decatur she couldn’t come by for a face-to-face meeting). When Joel told me she was booking us, I was actually shocked – we didn’t even get to win her over with our charming personalities at the show or at a consultation! When Joel told me she was “that girl from the end of the show” it warmed my heart to know she was going to be taken care of – and by us no less!
I think everyone who meets Catherine must feel the same way. She is so charming, beautiful and genuine – you can’t help but want to be her friend. Keith is equally kind, but in a more subdued way, like strength guarded. Their wedding was unique in the fact that, while it was in our backyard, it was a bit of a destination wedding for them. They have family in Decatur and Kansas City, so they decided to meet in the middle for a St. Louis wedding. How fun is that? They had decided to do most of their pictures before the wedding, so we arrived just before Catherine got into her dress. As you may know, I am a great lover of fashion, so when I saw her Badgely Mischka wedding shoes I about died! Joel had no idea what that meant…but, girls, you know what I’m talking about! It’s all those little details that make the day. Even their table settings at their Shlafley Tap Room reception were adorable. And can I just say that their food was a-mazing! They had a cupcake tower too. We love cupcakes – I know it’s a total fad right now with chic cupcakerys springing up, but I love it! They are adorable and tasty too. Joel is a big fan of all things cake, and I’m more of a pie and ice cream kind of girl, but even I enjoy a good cupcake.
Ok…so enough about the food. The whole day was such a wonderful, intimate celebration of love and family. It just made us feel warm to be a part of it. That is why we love what we do! It’s like getting to be part of a real-life fairy tale every day. Catherine & Keith, we had a wonderful time capturing your wedding story and are so excited for your future together!
