Don’t you just love a story of high school sweethearts? I do. I love seeing people I went to school with who ended up together – it’s just precious. And I love it when we get to have couples who share that story. For Tom and Ashley they met in their junior year at a car show in West Pointe Bank. Tom was showing his mustang, and Ashley’s grandparent’s were showing two of their cars. Tom vaguely recognized her from school, and since he is one of the most social guys I’ve ever met, it comes as no surprise that he went over to chat with her. He actually ended up meeting her entire family that day – all the while thinking he would never see these people again. They started eating lunch together later that year, and their friendship bloomed into a love story, and the rest, as they say, is history.
I asked Tom what he loves about Ashley, and here is what he said:
“It’s an amazing feeling looking into the eyes of a woman and realizing that she fully and truly loves me for everything that I am. The way she looks in my eyes and smiles at me is so unique that I know that I am the only person who receives it. It’s the way she greets me at the door when I come home from work and hugs/kisses me to say “Hello.” It’s the feeling I have when she hugs me and lays her head on my chest that I can sense she feels more relaxed that I’m home again. It’s the happiness that I feel just being around her. It’s the ‘hey let’s just take a nap on a Saturday afternoon because nothing else is important right now’ feeling.”
If that isn’t love then I don’t know what is 🙂 Here’s a peak at their engagement session at the Botanical Gardens this spring.
