When Christina & Greg first met, they actually didn’t like each other. But as often happens, they shared a lot of the same friends and so were hanging out, so they became friends pretty quickly and maintained that for a year before starting to date. Christina was actually the one who initiated the relationship; she knew it was something special after Greg made the drive to Peoria to visit her at school. They did long distance for 3 years until Christina was able to get a job in St.Louis and move back home.
After 5 years of being together, Greg finally popped the question while they were hiking. He proposed as they stood at a look out point on the bluff. However, Christina would not take the ring out of the box until they had moved away from the edge 🙂
We met them through several of our other couples that they knew and found them to be some of the sweetest people! So when their wedding day finally rolled around, I was very excited to be photographing it for them. They were married in a beautiful barn at Pour Vineyard. This is an incredible venue with lots of potential and made a great non-traditional space for their ceremony. It was a beautiful and emotional event, truly the beginning of a new chapter in the Christina & Greg Story.
After taking photos at the vineyard (we could have kept going for hours, it’s that cool!), we went on the Greg’s grandma’s property to do some photos by a 200 year old cabin that his dad had moved there and reassembled himself. Talk about history! From there we went to the party which was well attended by several hundred friends and family members (I told you they were sweet people, see, everyone loves them!). All in all one of my favorite type of wedding days, full of laughter, a few tears, lots of love and people that really care about each other.
Congratulations Christina & Greg!
