One of my favorite things are referrals from other weddings. Booking weddings based simply on our previous work is definitely great, but when previous clients recommend you to others it always give that nice warm and fuzzy feeling inside. Samantha was a friend of Amy’s (from Amy and Josh’s wedding), when she was looking for a wedding photographer, Amy recommended her to us. Cue the warm and fuzzies.
Since we booked this wedding so late in the year, we had to rush to squeeze in the engagement session before it got too close to winter. We actually met with Sam and her sister and put the session on the books before we even finalized the contract. No time to waste! Since Sam and Kenny live a bit out of the city, they wanted a more rural look for their photos. This was very pleasing to us, because it gave us the chance to work in quite a different setting than any other engagement so far this year. We popped off to Willoughby Farm here in Collinsville (Check it out here) on a Sunday evening, and it worked out perfectly. We had a great time working with Sam and Kenny, and we were thrilled with the photos we got. They both kept laughing at me, because I was so excited about some of the photographs we were getting, that I kept talking to myself. They were great sports and endured my continued enthusiasm throughout the session. Once sunset arrived, we got some great shots with the sun going down. Late afternoons and early evenings in the Fall are my very favorite time to work!
Here are a few photographs from that evening. Let us know if you like them!
