We love destination weddings. We like to travel; what can we say? But what is even more fun is when that destination takes us close to friends! Well…I might trade being close to friends for a tropical locale or anywhere in Europe. Any takers? We’ll make it worth your while, I PROMISE.
This year our two destination weddings were only a week a part, so it was a bit crazy for a few weeks, but definitly worth it. More than just a wedding, Brad and Jen were joining two families, as they both have adorable kids of their own. They decided to travel to the most beautiful state in the country, yes, my home state of Colorado. Most people only think of Colorado for skiing, but it is absolutely gorgeous in the summer. Brad and Jen chose to be married by Sprague Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, just outside of the quaint town of Estes Park. It was a beautiful day, full of that Colorado sunshine, and the family and friends that made the journey to be with them were full of sunshine too!
One my favorite memories of the day was all the times we saw Jen with a camera. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a bride taking photos on her own wedding day! But that’s a mom for you. Just about every time we turned around she was shooting a photo of her kids. It was absolutely endearing. It was also so special to see how much the kids love their parents and were excited to celebrate with them. At the close of the ceremony Brad and Jen pulled them into a group hug and prayed together over their new family – I love that! It was such a special day and a chance for us to capture the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. Thanks Jen, Brad, and all the clan for allowing us to be a part!
