Meet me at the Station | Kelly & Doug

Kelly and Doug…what an incredible couple. They first met a few years back when Kelly moved back to her home town of Mt. Vernon, and once they went on their first date, they have never been apart since. There are those weddings each year that we look forward to for a very long time, and this was definitely one of them. Not only could we not wait to be with Kelly and Doug again (who are an absolute riot together and almost more fun than a couple should be), but we were so excited to finally get the chance to photograph at the incredible Union Station in the phenomenal Grand Hall. We knew it was just going to an incredible day all around, and we were so excited for it.

Shannon started the out with the girls at the hotel as their had their makeup and hair, and I (Joel) was with the guys at Dapper Gents to get haircuts and straight shaves. As a wet-shave aficionado myself, it was a lot of fun being there with the guys. When it was time for the Kelly and Doug to see each other, we knew it was going to be extra special. Doug is a big, strong guy, but even he was overcome with emotion seeing how amazing Kelly looked in her dress. (and, this was after Kelly’s family all had their share of emotions seeing her all dressed up!) After we did some outdoor photos, it was very important to them to make a stop at the Scottrade Center because they are such huge St. Louis Blues fans.  From there, it was on the wedding! And this is where I start to make the huge shout out to Sabrina from Proposing Dreams. She was responsible for virtually everything with the decor and design, and it was just perfect from top to bottom. From the ceremony to the reception to the getting all of the other details together, every part of the day was just visually spot on. Once the reception kicked off, it was a great party from start to finish (including Kelly changing into another dress so she could dance a little more freely!). After everything was said and done, we took them outside to do a few more photos at the end of the night.
