Going Dental…by St Louis Wedding Photographers Joel & Shannon
It’s another winery wedding!
Based on the slightly witty (and completely silly) title of this blog, you will not be shocked to learn that both our adorable bride and the dashing groom work in the dental industry. When we first met the two of them, Zara was working as a dental administrator, and Broch was working on getting into dental school. They were such a fun and sweet couple, and we knew we were going to have a wonderful time working with them. They met while at school at SIUE. Zara was the sophisticated older woman, and Broch was the young gun. Once they came around to it, they were a perfect match. It’s wonderful to see these two together. They enjoy each other so much, and their love shows.
We started out meeting the girls at Studio Eleven in Maryville, IL (which was a pretty cool hair studio, if I (Joel) say so myself). After everyone was looking amazing, we headed to get some lunch at a local Mexican restaurant. After the girls at the table ordered Zara a celebratory flaming shot. This was where we discovered that Zara is, rather comically, very scared of fire. We were all cracking up as she totally did not know what to do. In order to work up the nerve to go through with it, the other girls had to join in. It was quite entertaining 🙂
The ceremony was scheduled for early evening to let the heat burn off a bit. Oh yeah, it was another one of those crazy hot days. Actually, before Amy and Jake’s Chandler Hill Vineyards wedding the following weekend, this was the hottest wedding we had ever had before. The wedding and reception was at the beautiful Villa Marie Winery in Maryville. This was to be our first time working there, so we were very excited. Even though most of the grass was a bit brown from our heat and drought this summer, it still was a very nice and lovely place to have the wedding (extreme hear warnings notwithstanding). After the very sweet ceremony and a bit of time for the formal photos, we headed into the party! One highlight was definitely the dance contest that broke out.
A huge congrats to Zara and Broch who are now all the way out in sunny (and hotter!) Arizona! I wish we could have had you into the studio to show you the photos for the first time in person, but it would be a long drive 🙂 Blessings to you both, and thank you so much for letting us be a part of your day!

P.S. a HUGE shout-out to Tami Heroff from Perfect Day Wedding and Events. With all the logistics needed from the heat, the whole day could have been much more challenging than it was. She did an amazing job of planning and executing the day, and we would very highly recommend her if you are looking for a planner or day-of coordinator. Also, she is a sweet, friendly person…just the type of person you would want with you on a day like that!
